Project 4: UX

"See Full Presentation Here!"

Shanice, Daniel, Mikayel and I revised the Binghamton University Library’s “Find it” feature. We wanted to streamline the search process for the user. We constructed a site map to illustrate the excess features that we intended to revise. From there, we created four scenarios in which an individual may find frustration when using the current library search function. We sent out a Google form to students and the Pipe Dream staff in an effort to observe what people like and dislike about the site. From our own research and the results of said form we took to designing a new wireframe layout that would streamline simple searches while leaving easy access to the more advanced features that some users may need. We also created a wireframe for the site as it currently stands to compare the difference between our re-designed interface with the current one.

Project 3: Article Illustrations

Exercise: It's what we evolved to do

The illustration about exercising hints at the fact that humans have evolved from chimps and the person lifting the gorilla kettlebell in front of his face is satisfying his evolutionary need.

Burning Man’s Fashion Is Wild, but There Are Rules

The burningman festival is known for its no judgement rules. Everyone is free to express themsevles, however, some enviornmental rules prevent attenders from wearing glitter. The "fashion police" of burning man, which I illustrated, is preventing such outfits from ruining the special location in the desert, during the burn.

Into the Wild With Kanye West

The article about Kanye West's adventures in Wyoming before the release of his latest album "Ye" speaks about his views on music and artistry. The illustration paints Ye floating inside the creative process. With the Wyoming mountains made out of Music levels in the background. The article title floating front and center above Kanye is in the same font that "Ye" cover's "I hate being bipolar, it's awesome"

Each illustration is based on an the article linked underneath it. Usually article illustrations are very simple and flat, but for this project I wanted to do more. My approach for them was to make a detailed illustration that would grab the attention of readers.

Project 2: Personal Logo

This personal logo project required us to choose an item to represent ourselves, and because of my passion for fashion, I chose to create a hoodie icon. As the icons get scaled, there are less details.

Project 1: Spaceman

For the postcard project I decided to create an illustration of the idea I had been thinking about for some time. The dead astronaut floating in space, lost in the matrix. He is wearing clothing from 2018, NASA's collaboration with Heron Preston as well as Vans. The glitching letters only add to the mystery; a postcard from nowhere.
